The area may be known more as a business hub, however it is becoming increasingly appealing for those who are looking to settle on a fresh, modern side of London. Britannia Village Primary School

Located in Newham, Britannia Village Primary School is a state school which has been regarded as “outstanding” in many different Ofsted inspection reports.The school has a culturally and ethnically diverse population which helps make the environment really vibrant and stimulating for their students. Alongside the social environment, the level of teaching is also regarded as exemplary as proven by the students’ achievements in English, Mathematics and ICT. Faraday Prep School

Faraday School, founded in 2009, is a small but growing prep school in East London. Named after the British scientist Michael Faraday who was working in this area on improvement of lighthouses, the school offers independent education. However, it does not distance itself from traditional components such as emphasis on literacy and numeracy, followed by drama, arts and sports classes later in the day. A particularity of Faraday Prep School is using “London as a classroom”, which gives the students the opportunity to attend exhibitions of local artists, observe London’s iconic landmarks and much more, while seamlessly incorporating them into their curriculum. Ofsted claims that the level of education at Faraday Prep School is outstanding and the school successfully meets children’s needs (Read the Ofsted Independent School Report). The school is a ten minute walk from East India Docks (DLR) and it offers school bus routes to and from Limehouse, Wapping and Canary Wharf. Also, using the school bus service which overall covers 22 stops including Stratford, Canning Town and Langdon Park.

The Royal Docks Community School

The Royal Docks Community School is a mixed, comprehensive school for students aged between 11 and 16 which was awarded The British Council International School Award. Located in southern area of The London Borough Newham (close to City airport), the school currently holds 950 students and offers a “quality of teaching and learning that goes above and beyond the call of duty”, as stated in the Ofsted report of March 2015. The school also offers a Global Partnership Programme which allows it to have links with different institutions around the UK, Argentina and India on topics such as the human rights, the environment and poverty.

Addey & Stanhope School

Addey and Stanhope is a secondary school that was founded by the merger of two deep-rooted schools; The Stanhope (founded in 1715) and The Addey School (founded in 1821). In line with its grand history, the school offers an ambitious education to its pupils by its well-rounded curriculum as well as thought-provoking extra-curricular activities such as charity partnerships  and the annual Plato Learning Conference. In this event, students are introduced to university style teaching and learning, spending the whole day debating various social topics. Ofsted reports state that Addey & Stanhope School is a “good school where students behave exceptionally well and feel extremely safe. Arnhem Wharf Primary School

Arnhem Wharf Primary School has the goal of creating innovative thinkers and motivated learners through their inclusive and stimulating learning environment. The topics covered in each class are linked, which aims to make students’ learning journey as smooth yet as organised as possible.The Ofsted report of 2013 claims that pupils achieve well and continuously make progress.
