The challenge
The challenge wasn’t simply installing new security measures. It was delivering a complex programme within a live school environment, protecting pupils, supporting staff and maintaining teaching throughout the works. Success depended on careful planning, close collaboration and clear communication with everyone involved.
The solution
Madison Brook planned and managed the safeguarding programme from design through to completion. Working closely with OCMAT, the school leadership team, consultants and specialist contractors, we developed a phased delivery programme that aligned construction activity with the school’s daily operations. Regular planning meetings and design reviews ensured the programme remained responsive to the school’s needs while maintaining progress.
The works included the installation of secure perimeter fencing, modern access control systems and comprehensive CCTV coverage, all delivered safely within a live school environment with minimal disruption to pupils and staff.
The outcome
The completed programme has created a safer, more secure learning environment where pupils, staff and visitors can feel confident every day. OCMAT now benefits from a modern, integrated safeguarding solution that strengthens site security while supporting the school’s long-term operational needs.
Most importantly, the works were delivered while the school remained fully operational, allowing teaching to continue uninterrupted and ensuring the wellbeing of pupils remained the priority throughout the programme. The project demonstrates how thoughtful planning, partnership working and careful delivery can improve not just buildings, but the environments where young people learn, grow and thrive.

All refurbishment and capital works costs are formally agreed at the very commencement of the programme. Our margins are completely locked, meaning Madison Brook absorbs 100% of the inflation risk. If material or labour costs spike mid-programme, your cost remains unchanged.
